The economic and social contribution of seafood to New Zealand

On 16 February 2023, Data Manager Hugh Dixon presented at the 2023 Symposium on Seafood Production. The symposium focused on the science, economics, and environmental effects of seafood production in New Zealand.

Hugh’s presentation focused on commercial fishing’s contribution to GDP, employment, and exports, and the economics behind the deepwater, inshore, rock lobster, shellfish, and highly migratory sectors.
