Our partnerships
BERL takes great pleasure in our partnerships with the Wellington City Mission, Federation of Māori Authorities, Tāwhiri, and the Taranaki Arts Festival Trust, and the Royal New Zealand Ballet.
We are honored to support the work of our partners in both professional and philanthropic capacities.
Wellington City Mission
BERL is proud to support the mahi of the Wellington City Mission. We see this relationship as integral to our kaupapa about people and wellbeing, and are eager to support them in a number of ways.
We have tapped into our professional expertise to provide research and advice to the Wellington City Mission for their grant applications. Looking forward, we are keen to use our valuable skills and knowledge to support the Wellington City Mission with evidence-based insights.
BERL also enjoys supporting the Wellington City Mission by providing ongoing funding and assisting with fundraising efforts, offering volunteering hours, and making regular food bank donations.
Federation of Māori Authorities
BERL has enjoyed a close and mutually beneficial relationship with FOMA since its establishment in 1987. Together we work with and for many Māori organisations, enterprises, iwi, trusts, and incorporations.
BERL is a respected partner and preferred provider to FOMA of economic and policy advice.
FOMA is a respected partner and preferred provider to BERL in assisting in te ao Māori and te ōhanga Māori space.
This reciprocal relationship allows us to join forces when appropriate, and BERL often works with FOMA in joint project teams that utilise the skills, knowledge, and capabilities of both organisations to best serve Māori clients.
Tāwhiri
BERL is excited to support the mahi of Tāwhiri, the creative force behind the New Zealand Festival, the Wellington Jazz Festival, Second Unit, and the Lexus Song Quest.
Our expertise in impact assessment provides Tāwhiri with the valuable insights they need to evaluate the significance of their events. Of particular interest are their efforts to enable the communities of Wellington and beyond to experience top-class creative arts and cultural experiences.
BERL’s work with Tāwhiri will assist them in their future development and direction of creative activities in our communities.
Taranaki Arts Festival Trust
BERL is a long-standing supporter of the arts in Taranaki, beginning our relationship with TAFT in 2010.
Since its inception in 1991, TAFT has been a leader in the New Zealand arts sector, presenting a variety of art and music festivals including the internationally established WOMAD.
BERL’s relationship with TAFT has involved producing economic impact assessments, including yearly assessments for the Powerco Taranaki Garden Festival since 2012. Our work with TAFT helps to demonstrate the incredible value that their festivals bring to the region.
Royal New Zealand Ballet
BERL’s newest partner is the Royal New Zealand Ballet (RNZB), Aotearoa New Zealand’s ballet company, bringing live performances and learning opportunities for all ages to communities across the motu since 1953.
The RNZB Education team offers workshops and residencies in schools, online resources for teachers, open classes for dance students and creates special opportunities for people with barriers to participation or attendance, including audio description for the visually impaired, NZSL interpretation for narrated performances, and relaxed performances for neurodiverse people.
BERL’s support of the RNZB will play a crucial role in helping them better understand their economic and social significance within the arts sector in New Zealand, showcasing their invaluable contribution to communities, and highlighting the broader impact of ballet and the performing arts on society.
