Simon Hunt

Simon joined BERL in 2023, initially as an intern through Victoria University of Wellington. Upon completing his internship in 2024, Simon accepted a full-time analyst position. For his Master’s dissertation, he examined how Wales and Finland have incorporated genuine intergenerational wellbeing into their government institutional frameworks and practices, and what lessons New Zealand policymakers can learn from their domestic wellbeing models.

Simon is experienced in trend identification for large datasets, with an emphasis on the skills of theme analysis and data communication. Having studied scientific, economic, and philosophical concepts, he is able to logically think about complex scenarios, and offer potential insights. Using his varied background, he is clear and comprehensive in his writing.
