Nick is an experienced economist having worked on a range of economic projects across the public and private sector in New Zealand and the United Kingdom.
Nick joined BERL in 2019 as a Senior Economist. He enjoys the range of industries and variety of projects that consulting offers. Nick enjoys the opportunity to meet clients, understand their needs, and help them make a real difference for their communities, regions and the country.
After graduating university and being admitted as a barrister and solicitor Nick found his passion was in economics rather than law. He then spent time working in the public sector in New Zealand before moving to the United Kingdom.
While in the United Kingdom, Nick worked in economic consulting for a number of clients including the Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy, local and county councils, property developers as well as businesses in the manufacturing, IT and retail sectors. He then returned to New Zealand to be closer to family and was a Senior Adviser at the Ministry of Transport.
In his spare time Nick is a self-described sports tragic. When not travelling around the world to knock various sporting events off his bucket list, Nick can be found playing cricket or football in the weekends or in front of the TV watching whatever sport he can find, from Super Rugby to extreme ironing.
