Hannah joined BERL in 2019 as a Research Economist. Hannah shares BERL’s passion for researching global and domestic issues to understand the impact on all New Zealanders and the New Zealand economy.
Hannah is curious in her problem solving and seeks to develop robust strategic solutions to help all New Zealanders thrive. Hannah is particularly interested in understanding the ecological challenges that the globe faces. She also enjoys working in Te Ao Māori and since joining BERL has worked on various projects within the Māori economy.
Hannah has a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Commerce (Finance major) from Otago University, and completed a university exchange at Louvain School of Management in Belgium. After graduating university Hannah completed her Professional Legal Studies and was admitted as a barrister and solicitor while working at Deloitte as a Tax Consultant providing advisory services to a range of clients. During her time at Deloitte, she gained practical insight to many industries and businesses by carrying out business analysis, industry analysis and functional analysis.
Outside of work, she enjoys a range of adventures with family and friends, whether it be travelling abroad, skiing, ticking off the next Great Walk, or crossing off bucket list activities closer to home, such as running the Skyline Walkway Trail or enjoying kiwi music at the Homegrown festival.
